General Description

For decades the world center of production for motors, Motorville is steeped in history. Founded in the 18th Century by Antonio de la Waspe Cadzilla, a French explorer of Italian ancestry, the land that now makes up Motorville was once rugged and free. Today it's mostly concrete. Motorville, along with most of northeastern North America, was ceded to the British, and the town grew quickly. When the industrial revolution took off, Motorville, now in American hands, was instantly industrialized and commercialized, and quickly became a great industrial center, even before the motor was invented.

The introduction of the motor by Henri Fjord, the Norwegian cousin of one of the original French colonists (perhaps from Normandy?) caused Motorville's economy to skyrocket, with the soon-to-follow introduction of the assembly-line motor plants.

With the production of motors now occurring on a global scale, the importance of Motorville as a center of motor skills has declined severely. This decentralization, compared with the civil unrest of the sixties and seventies, has made for a terrible downturn in the local Motorville economy. With city resources taxed to a maximum, the ability of the city to keep vagrant canines off the street has been almost completely curtailed, and the canine criminal element has flourished, from small-time scrap snatchers to top dogs in "The Pack," an international canine criminal organization.

Motorville's economy and importance have not completely been stifled, however. The city is still headquarters for several major banks, and for many of the great motor companies that survived the lean times of the post-post-war era, in particular Major Motors. And Motorville also is the home of the world headquarters of Barker, Tchootoi and Wolfe, the world's largest puppy-treat accounting firm.
