Baron Horst von Kelpf learned to handle and train dogs as a boy growing up in the Bavarian Alps. His dedication and experience served him well, as his reputation permitted him to be ultra-selective of clients. Only the very best and most promising dogs would be handled by the Baron.

Sadly, fate dealt Baron von Kelpf a cruel hand, when he traveled to Motorville for the 96th Annual Motorville Kennel Club Show. He and his charge, the legendary Spartacus, were caught up in the Reticulans' diabolical scheme to conquer Earth and beamed away into their orbiting spaceship. In spite of Wonder 'Zoi's best efforts, the Baron was swept out of the Reticulan Cruiser's airlock, presumably to a horrible death in the cold void of space.
